Es la niña bonita de la etapa otoñal festivalera. Aquel título por el que tanto Venecia como Toronto, Telluride y Nueva York (principal favorita para llevarse el gato al agua) suspiran presentar en su sección competitiva. De hecho, parece que, como bien nos informaba Jeffrey Wells en Hollywood Elsewhere, hay quien ya ha visto "Inherent Vice", y de ella comentan (como era de esperar) que no estamos ante la típica peli narrativa centrada en los tres actos, ni tampoco ante una comedia detectivesca al uso. 

Lo que más bien atisba es “una película de brillante y cautivador poderio atmosférico cuya trama se desarrolla de forma no linear" y cuya (de)construcción narrativa recuerda a "El Gran Lebowski"...mejor, no puede puede sonar. Basada en la novela de Thomas Pynchon, "Inherent Vice" nos contará la historia de Larry Doc Sportello, un detective privado contratado por su ex novia para investigar la desaparición de su acaudalado marido en Los Ángeles de 1969. Protagonizada por Joaquin Phoenix, Benicio del Toro y Owen Wilson, el director de "Pozos de Ambición" y "The Master" ya tiene apunto su sugestiva y a buen seguro, desternillante incursión en la 'comedia pura'. Es lo que podemos esperar tras brindarnos una de las mejores comedias románticas de la historia, y con Adam Sandler a la cabeza, en "Punch Drunk Love".
